Trinity Sunday: May 30, 2010 (Lindsay)
We welcome Rev. Lindsay Comstock back home for the first time in two years. Lindsay’s sermon focuses on work in East Asia among women and children at risk as potential victims of human trafficking. Her text for the morning is Acts 9:36-43. The service also features a beautiful solo by one of our teenagers and a trio from our ladies ensemble.
Worship: Pentecost Sunday, 5.23.10
Our worship centers on Acts 2:1-21. Pentecost is one of the most sacred days in the Christian Year. This year’s celebration features special music by Molly Huffstetler, Ryan Corbitt, Judy Fiske, and the Sanctuary Choir. The reading of Acts 2:1-2 features multiple voices speaking in multiple languages. Sterling Severns’ sermon focuses upon the history we have with a God that breathes life into us individually and collectively as a church.
Mother’s Day: 5.9.10
Our worship centers on the Mother’s Day celebration. A child is dedicated. Special music is provided by both the Karen and Chin Choirs. One of our teenagers sings a song he composed followed by a powerful duet sung by Helen and Bod Davidson. Later in the service, Helen shares a wonderful testimony about her Mother. The brief sermon focuses on the promise Christ makes to the disciples in anticipation of the spirit’s arrival.
Easter 5c: 5.2.10
Our communion service centers on John 13:31-35 . Be sure to listen to Emily Harry’s powerful testimony, Biak Tling and Tin Par’s duet, and the choir’s communion reflection.
